They've been test driving them in Brum for a while, scary prices for a decent one, but the T5 looks a great piece of kit. We saw a transporter full of them on the continent when we were delivering the car for Foggy, looks just as good in real life!
It's the only current model car that I'd consider getting new, if I could afford one!
So are they on general sale now? I've been looking forward to seeing one in the flesh for ages, I may pop round to Drayton's and book myself a test drive!
The 2 rear seat thing is cool as, 480's had it and I was very very tempetd to keep the seats out of Toffee. Centre cubby hole/box between the seats is hoooooooge.
They aren't cheap, but in certain ways you're getting a lot for your money. For example, to install a stereo on a par with the top spec one will run you well into four figures.
If it were a little more practical (it's too much 480, too little 340 3dr), I'd probably buy one.

Yeah, granted its a 4 figure stereo Foggy, thats why you pay over 4 figures for it... and granted it is FWD. But so was the 480, which was the last supposed sports car from Volvo... thats just the standard now

Possibly, but the major problem is that a lot of the new generation of whiteblock engines are no longer being built by Volvo personnel in Volvo factories. Many are now being built in Bridgend and would you really want to have an engine built by a load of Welsh ex coalminers............?

Is the SI6 in the S80 still classed as a whiteblock? You'd clearly steer clear of the 1.6D and 2.0D like you'd avoid Hugh with Viagra, but I bet a T5 or D5 would be a seriously tasty drive, especially if they'd start selling the latter with a 6 speed manual.
I forgot to ask Sam , did you get the reg number of the car you saw , I woulden't want that one if the guy was ragging it with only 24 miles on the clock !!!!!!
