I dont think anyone will understand Clarkson

however last nights top gear special was the funniest television I have seen for a long long time, pure class

if you missed it last night you can see it again on

Wednesday 14, 7pm on BBC Two and Saturday 17, 7pm on BBC Three. No excuses, then.

I remember seeing that on Top Gear when it was originally aired and being really upset! Never like people destroying cars for "fun".

Clarkson destroyed another 340 in 1996 by crashing it into a tree in his "Unleashed on Cars" DVD, allegedly because "its rubber bands keep snapping".

+1 for watching last nights top gear if you missed it. Me and housemates were crying cos we were laughing so much.

Clarkson has to be taken with a pinch of salt, I reckon since the format for top gear changed, he has become the funniest bloke on there, he doesn't take himself seriously any more. Still, shame they don't cover the amount of rallying they used to, but that isn't the nature of the new style!

I absolutely love the new format - "we're all going on a caravanning holiday" or "how do I make a car swim" - great stuff. But I do miss old Chris Goffey and his "rear legroom's not too good on this Nissan Sunny" and William Woollard's wise words a bit as well though, and I reckon Clarkson was at his funniest in those days because he was such a contrast to the others.

Found one of these quotes on a website somewhere on William Woollard:

"With his alarmingly swooping hairstyle and raffish taste in anoraks, Woollard enthralled audiences with his unique ability to walk towards the camera whilst talking and waving his hands about a bit. Sometimes he would even rest one foot on a car bumper giving him the appearance of a particularly learned C&A model. Little wonder that producers credited Woollard for attracting a new female audience to the Top Gear fold"

Those were the days

I really don't understand his obsession of destroying perfectly good cars.

I liked Tiff Needle more, also I did laugh a lot when Tiff was showing drifting in some shitty 4dr sedan, there was Jeremy, Vicky and some other guy in car and Jeremy looked really scared at corners

I do like 5th gear more as they don't destroy cars and also because Tiff can actually drive (ok, Jeremy has taken lot of lessons after Tiff left, but he just don't have that race driver in his blood), but I can't see 5th gear too often.

not so sure matey , they did a whole programme about motorway accidents and the effects of driving too close to the car in front , they trashed loads of cars including a Merc

however I do think the lovely Vicky is easier on the eye than James May lol

Ugh, I remember that, [shudder]. She took a baseball bat to it.

5th Gear was trying to do the Toyota Pickup "toughness test" thing, and it didn't quite come over.
