1979 Volvo 343 Oettinger

The 343 Oettinger, commissioned from the VW/Audi tuning company Oettinger by Dieter Laxy, Volvo Deutschland's sales director, was presented at the Nürburgring for the 1979 model year. Oettinger had up until then only been tuning VWs and Audis, and one source claims the rear spoiler was the same one fitted to Sciroccos.
The idea was give the 300's image a boost - it only being available with the variomatic gearbox until Autumn 1978 hadn't really been doing its reputation much good.
