How much will I damage them if I pull them off? Gonna respray em as theres a couple of marks on some of them and would rather take em off than mask the whole car up.

If you dont look out, taking them off can cause massive denting to the door.
Did that to one or two of my doors so I know.
I would advise you to try and heat them up with a heat gun, glue usually loosens easier when heated up.

Phew, thought u were gonna say you were removing them ;) Looks good on a 3 door but not on a 4/5 door. Heat may well help, theyre held on relatively strongly iirc :?

They are very well bonded! If you do remove them in order to do any paintwork, good luck in getting them lined up again! I can see where you're coming from and doing it properly once is better than a quick job that either looks pants or won't last.

Heat may well help, I seem to think from memory the end cap bits come off, might be wrong though, been a while since I handled one off of the car.

Finding a good adhesive strip material may not be too easy, as I expect any aftermarket DIY stuff to be utter s***e and fall off in no time! Also, I'm sure you're aware of this, but as a tip, fresh paint needs keying so the adhesive strips will stick properly, otherwise it's trying to bond to a highly finished surface. I've seen so many so called bodyshops or DIY'ers who've done a great job of the actual paintwork and repairs, then let it all down when adding the decals, badges and trim parts, due to lack of care and attention to detail and preparing the surfaces properly!

Ye know about prepping the surface, gonna give them a wash with soapy water & meths, then key the surface with some sandpaper before I spray em.

Gonna try heating one door one up and see what happens if it doesnt want to come off its staying on. Ive taken an end cap off already but they've got much less glue on.
