I decided to sell my 1989 Volvo 340DL, because in my opinion it doesn't make sense any more to repair the car as there is quite a lot of rust underneath the car, but if you are good at welding, it should not be too expensive to repair, the other parts are quite in a good condition.

Color: Silver-metallic
Model Year: 1989
Deilvered in: november 1989
Second owner since 1989 (my granny was the first owner)
88.000km
4 cylinders
Power: 40 kW Diesel Engine
New cylinder-head-gasket about 35.000km ago
5 gears
We used the car until a few days ago
Problems: rusty parts underneath, shock absorbers (dashpots?) and exhaust need to be renewed, some other minor problems as leaking gaskets.

Pictures can be seen at: http://volvo340.massiczek.com

(sorry for wrong translations, but it's difficult to find the correct technical terms in a foreign language, feel free to ask, if you have problems understanding my description of the car)

Nice to see someone posting something about a diesel! It wasn't sold in all markets so this forum tends to focus more on the petrol versions. Shame you're parting with your car, particularly if it's been in the family for such a long time.

Austrian people love diesel cars as diesel was much cheaper than petrol over the last 20 years, now as diesel is getting more expensive, there is a comeback of petrol cars.

I guess it will be hard to say goodbye to this car, but as I am not a 340-enthusiast, I don't want to spend too much money on it. It would just be great if this car will not get scrapped. Maybe there is someone who wants to repair it or use it for spare parts? (I will not sell spare parts separately, only the whole car!)

The car has been sold to someone who wants to repair it, so it will not be scrapped.
