I did try a search for anyone supplying pattern parts but couldnt find what I was after

Does anybody on here know anyone or of any company who do pattern exhaust systems to suit the 1.7 (b172), as mine has more rust holes than I'd care to continue patching

Oh, and is it true that only the volvo oil filters have a non return valve?

Have you tried your local motor discount? Mine had no bother getting me a backbox and downpipe for a B200, and all motor disco's appear to have the same suppliers. I don't know if B17 'zorst spares are rarer however.

I never had any trouble getting replacement parts. I always went through a garage though.

Having seen how quickly the Bosal system (fitted by the previous owner probably about 2-3 years ago) on my car has deteriorated, I would tend to avoid them...

I think thats to do with the 'drain hole' idea that they put in the boxes, its supposed to stop the condensation rotting the box from the inside out. I had a eurobox that had a bosal system fitted and on start up used to spray carbon and condensation all over the rear axle. At the end of the day i suppose you get what you pay for.

The silencers arent too bad suprisingly, but the main concern is the way its just rotting away on the overaxle backbox/middle box join!

I've been using Bosal exhausts for the last 5 years. They come with a 24 month guarantee. Every Bosal exhaust bit I've had, has had to be replaced after 2 years + plus one or two months

As fume says, you get what you pay for. However, I don't really know of very many alternatives. Walker also do exhausts but I haven't heard good things about them either.

That's not to say that Volvo exhaust last very much longer, but AFAIK they fit better ...

Members of the Volvo Owners Club can buy Sterling stainless exhausts for a little over £200. I don't know what the cost is to non-members.

I recall Dai proposing to fabricate performance exhausts, not sure how that progressed.

I keep promising myself that I'll get a stainless one "next time". Then the old exhaust tends to fall off or something and I end up getting a cheap and cheerful one fitted at National Tyres.

Is that a full system for £100 ?!

Flexi pipes are scary money to replace. I briefly had a hyundai accent coupe - don't laugh! and a flexi pipe for that was the same money as your Primera and mine wasn't even a proper car!!!. I was wrong with what i said, it was £100 not including the front downpipe.

and my bossel exhaust system on my volvo is like 10x thicker than the one that was on it before.

Its amazing that a Bosal system is 100 quid. The Volvo one is about 30 quid more afaik and lasts about double the time.

^and where do you get a volvo 1?

my full sytem cost me 30quid from exhaust place near me 5years garentie
