While I was looking up part numbers for shock absorbers I was amused to see that the parts website I was looking at claimed that the Monroe shocks on offer were "not for police cars". Volvo 300 police cars? Who ever used those?

from a Dutch TV series. I wonder what police-specific equipment they were fitted with? Gun holders? Handcuff rails? Whatever, they weren't fitted with Monroe shocks

Holland seems to be the place for unusual 300 series ie vans, police cars, traffic wardens (special grey colour only for dutch police) and diesels!!!

Im going there on honeymoon in August. I wanted to go to Goteborg but my lady wanted to go to Paris.

We settled on Amsterdam in the end due to it being cheaper but Im hoping to see some unusual volvos there.

I'm fairly sure it's legal to have a vintage police replica, as long as the blue lights and siren are de-activated (take the fuse out when on public roads).

I'd like to do a replica at some point, could be entertaining!

You can have a replica police car and use it as long as you have done the following:

Covered all emergency lights
Covered all Police signs (they are a registered trade mark)

Yeah, I believe you could get away with Po-Lice or PooLice or something cheeky! I did see an old V8 Rover SD1 3500 Police car on the M1 heading to a show with the light on the roof covered in black, but the sides still said Police, I'm sure!

Anyway, I to think it'd be an ace replica to make, it's not that hard to do either!
