how the water near you im in Australia just seen it on the news

Last week having seen the weather forecast we thought today would be a fairly dry day to take the car for the MOT. How wrong they were There was a tree blown down across the road, so we had to do a long diversion that must have taken an extra 45 mins or so.

It rained all day, but luckily we didn't encounter any large puddles. it's weather like this that I'm glad we live on a hill

The area here has been wet, but I'm high enough not to get the flooding. Seen a bit on the news and heard that sadly two people have lost their lives in the floods already. One poor chap got trapped after falling down a manhole where the lid had been swept away by the water, and couldn't see it was missing due to the water apparently.

three dead in Sheffield area now , 100 airlifted to safety by helicopter and a resovior has got a large crack in its wall that may blow.

The 360 was parked on Brightside Lane at the weekend. Was lucky as decided to go back to London early due to weather warning.

BBC say 20 houses have been evac'd in Ludlow, so hopefully Adam is OK. Lincoln also sounds pretty special, but I spoke to Foggy last night from a landline, so guessing he and Ryan have some kinda working roof!

I saw the warnings last Friday as I was looking up the forcast for a bit of kiting, and tbh I was dubious, we've had a heck of a system involved for a week of so (so the winds been good kiting down here...) but I didn't think it was that bad. Then again, what I know about weather forecasting could be written on a beermat, but at least I can give a decent shout as to when the good kitesurfing is

Aye a bridge has been washed out in ludlow, large chunks of the A49 are shut, the A456 shut in places and the Main street in tenbury is under water!

Well i hate to say, Adam's Grandads home and business was in the worst hit area. I've never seen anything like it in ludlow. I got a call at 10.30 last night to say i better move our camper van, which i'm so thankful for as it was only yards from the bridge that colapsed. My office was also about a foot under water at about 6 last night bt luckly we managed to get everything important off the ground.

Adam if there is any help your relations need, please give me a call.

Certainly is a time for pulling together - Ludlow is surrounded by rivers and at the mo the Corve and Teme have broken their banks - same river causing chaos in Tenbury. As Carl said we were so lucky to get the van out last night, it would be completely cut off and soaked at best and washed away at worst!

Forgot you two were in Ludlow as well

Well you can't be expected to remember everyone's whereabouts Chris . Thanks for the offer, thats lovely of you - we got off pretty lightly to be honest as we live up the hill from the flooding, but some people have been hard-hit like Ads Grandad as Carl mentioned, hopefully the water will go down and the clean up can begin...

My mates house in barnsley was looking like it'd flood so I went round and between us we stuck the windows and doors in with silicon sealer and filled the airbricks in. Was 2 foot up the front door at one point and only a bit seeped in the house, the next doors house was completely under water.

Not good at all, sounds like you were lucky with the camper van you two. Unlucky for Adam's Grandad, I remember how it slopes down towards the workshop and his house quite badly and what with the river being right behind them too.

Adam is out of the area at Uni IIRC, but I hope everyone else is ok and that all the stuff at his Grandads can be sorted out. Your office doesn't look too good Carl. So many things are ruined once water gets at them, and it can take so long to dry places out properly. Good luck.

The worst of it was that they weren't allowed to start cleaning up until the insurance person had been out to assess the damage! Madness, today has been dry weatherwise so it would have been good to get the office as water-free as possible early on...

Oh no I heard on the news yesterday about Ludlow, and the bridge that got washed away, and immediately thought about you guys from up that way, but I had no idea whereabouts any of you were in relation to the water.

Sounds really bad for Adam's granddad, but hopefully he'll be able to get everything cleaned up
