Hi i'm garth from melbourne australia i have whats likely the only 1.7 340 in the city and i like the car apart from the difficulty in getting parts now have added an aussie built mk2 360 glt to the familywill likely use it as daily driver my other car a 1971 toyota corolla is now without a purpose but at least will remain low mileage it has only 80,000 miles on it after all these years but hasnt the power to takle the freeways,hills,or traffic in these parts will get pix of them all soon for the site have sent e-bay photos of the volvos but the quality isnt good

300's were built in Australia? I knew about kit cars going to Malaysia and being assembled there (due to import restrictions) but I didn't know about Australia ...

I presume he means aussie delivered, as is current car is a personal import.

my fault assuming they were built or assembled here as far as i know only the 360 was sold here by volvo officially at least i will be able to walk into a volvo dealer----hopefully and order parts which are carried here in this country still proceeding with the 340 repairs but knowing i cant get many parts here in this country means its not that suitable as a daily driver as there will be delays when i need to source parts from overseas--ie carburettor kit that is needed desperately at the moment my usual supplier has no listing for that particular model solex and mine has all the problems talked about elswhere in the forums

Did you get renault's out there mate? 5/11/19's etc all have the same carb if it helps!
