I will have one but shipping costs could make it expensive.
Is it a smiths or VDO cluster you have?

Humm! A really good question. I´m not an expertise, but I will try to find the difference.
Anyway, it´s a 1.4 GL Renault engine from 84, Variomatic.
As I find if it is Smith or VDO cluster I send the news!

tks for your attention

Have you checked the multiplug behind the dash, to make sure it hasn't just become loose?

Remove the panel above your legs, which is under the instrument panel. It's held on with a few plastic clips. Then look up at all the wires, and check all the plugs are clipped together firmly. :)

Como diz o membro MJ, experimenta tirar o painel por baixo do volante e mexe nas fichas do quadrante.

O meu 340 já teve essa maleita e isto resolveu. Andava sempre na reserva

Sorry guys, now in English.... Try to reconnect the plugs behind the dash as said MJ. I had the same problem in mine and it was that.

Yes, Plugs rechecked, but still the problem.
I think can it bee some " microchip " that controls this. Last 3 months I saw returned the good function twice, for 3/4 days, and then, just return to sleep...

I send the photo from my Instrument Panel, I hope it helps to find the Smiths vs VDO stuff.
Tanks again!

Looks very much like a VDO dash to me! Round centrally-aligned warning lights for petrol & water rather than square ones aligned towards the outside ...

So DAI
what you have is also a VDO?
My idea is to try to keep this volvo the more original as possible, anyway is my unic and "travel to work" car - and maby I´m an idealist...

I might also be able to help, but you're looking at 20 - 25 Euros just for postage and packing ...
