I would love one of these however I would not be a worthy owner to to my illness - as in I could not have a std car. Every car I have owned has to have things changed from the way it came out the factory.

The translation should be some interesting reading

* leather upholstery
* heated seats

* electric windows at the front
* electrically-adjusted and heated door mirrors
* radio preperation (2 door loudspeakers, roof aerial)
* decorative stripes
* econometer and outside temperature gauge

Technical details 360 GLT

cubic capacity 1986

Thanks for this!!!

I have now the 'official' brochure for my new baby! :D

I just come back from Germany with the car, crazy trip... On Monday at 11 pm I took a Eurolines bus from Brussels, I arrived in München on Tuesday at 11 am, took the U-Bahn and S-Bahn to the Hauptbahnhof (damn what a big city!!). After that I took a regional train to Garmisch Partenkirchen... Finally I was there at 1 pm. I took some fuel and the long trip to Belgium could begin! Honnestly the car wasn't driving very well the first 100 km (clutch quite worn and I had to begin with roads in the mountains... :D ) but after that it was ok, the 'GLT' feeling was there, which is VERY important on the AUTOBAHN, espacially some parts where the speed is... you can understand what i mean :D 850 km in total with only a quick pit stop for the fuel :)

The conclusion is:

+
- great car, very rare edition, nice (working) toys
- the saloon is VERY quite compared to the hatch
- engine running very well
- excellent power steering! Not too soft when driving (I was scared for that)

-
- bad clutch, need to be changed asap
- bad brakes
- rust: to be fair, new front valance, doors, bonnet and wings needed

Tom, I realize now that we could meet in the evening cause I took the A61, near Bonn isn't it... Shame!

Glad you got back safely! What a journey! Aren't there any cheapo flights from Brussels to Munich?

Pleeeease, could you take some high-res photos of the air con bits & perhaps take down some part numbers? That'd be most interesting for me, 'cos I don't know of any other LHD + PAS + air con cars in the V3M community ...

I suppose the a fixed rear seat and a saloon boot filters away a lot more diff/gearbox noise than a floppy rear parcel shelf ...

All sounds do-able! Go on, keep it in one piece, you know you want to :-)

That sounds interesting. Which bits did you need which were V300-specific? IIRC you'd need at least the evaporator in the heater box and the original mounting stand for the compressor ...

That evaporator and compressor are 300 specific if i remember correctly. That coolerthing in front of radiator is aftermarket one. As well is the dryer? If you need more specific details you should contact to Tero Huikko. He is the former owner of this car and he knows everything about it because he has installed almost every accessories to the car.

OK thanks for the info! The filter/drier will be aftermarket, if it has been converted to take the R134a gas. The compressor can be sourced from a 2/7/900 & Saabs apparently.

It'd be interesting to know which aftermarket condensor (aircon cooler) he used. AFAIK that's one of the V300-specific items. Perhaps I'll give him a PM ...
