Injectors refurbished

I got my injectors refurbished and it turned out that one injector was almost completely clogged and spray pattern was "completely shite" in the words of the guy who cleaned the injectors..

Now all injectors are good as new. I got those cleaned because the car started to lack power and made a strange clicking noise when driven.. Hopefully no burnt valves or anything because of the lean mixture, though I didn't drive it much after the symptoms started. :P

It cost 30 euros per injector, all renewable parts were changed, injector was cleaned in a ultrasound machine and after that cleaning liquid was run through the opposite direction of the fuel flow to get all debris out. Spray pattern was also tested before and after the cleaning and some leak-tests were also performed. :P

It's not too expensive, one new injector would've cost ~100 euros.

I should've taken "before" pic too. I didn't even know before that those were metallic colored.

Some of the fuel aditives do a good job of cleaning injectors such as flashlube. I should imagine removing them and giving a full clean and test is much better though

Have you refitted the injectors now? Would be very intereted to see what kind of difference this makes... and wether it's the one thing that makes LE-Jet complete crap....

Get access or get cheap machine that can do this http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ultrasonic_cleaner, then you will get really good cleaning results of any small parts you have, keys etc really easy to clean so they look almost like new.

I would think Fuse makes test drive today as he got injectors on place yesterday (I think it was yesterday) sm14

Mornin' all (I'm still alive - but rather manic at prez - lots of time away).

Re injector cleaning - had the 940s done during my recent tidying up - EXCELLENT results.

Used http://www.injectorcleaning.co.uk (HGL motors of Hull).

VERY good service - quick, efficient, and first class results. By post, turn round in 3days - injectors returned with before and after performance report and with old filter baskets, o rings and pintle covers. Cost was a little over half the "usual" from a Lucas agent.

Mac.

Hi Mac, was only wondering how you were earlier, as I was thinking about diff gaskets on one of my cars! Glad to see you're ok.

Looks like this would be really worthwhile then........ and a recommended place is always a good one to use, sounds like a good service from them.

Cheers,

Pete

Works much better. :P Though I had one injector jammed so it would be weird if it wouldn't make any difference. Now it doesn't feel like the engine is going to come apart when you floor it. :) Pulls much better and smoother.
