Looking for really early stuff (1976-1978)
I don't know whether anyone can help me but I am looking for the brown steering wheel in as good a condition as possible and the brown plastic caps (3269690 & 3269691) which were mounted under the front seats in the early ('76-'78) 343's. Any offers for other parts for these early ones I'll consider.

I'm going to have to wish you good luck in that quest
I'm sure we'll keep our eyes peeled...
cheers

I aslo wish you good luck on this one. There are not many Mk1'a about these days.
I only have few bits like head lights, pads and odd trims for these.

Sounds like you have a complete extra gauge set between you!
I just bought a very early '76 300 accessories brochure off the bay. Interesting stuff! They had extra gauges as an option right from the start - sitting in three pods in the brown dashboard above the ashtray. You could choose from a rev counter, ambient temp gauge, vaccuum meter or clock.
The radios on offer all have 8-track
That's how old the 300 is

The plastic caps are part of the interior trim. As one may have noticed the front seats are placed on "ridges" so they actually "hover" above the floorpan. These caps cover these "ridges" so that the whole looks to be nice and sturdy. After 1983 these caps were deleted and the carpet was extended to replace the caps.
As the seats squash these caps they usually break around the screw holes and the mounting points of the seats.
To make matters worse I do not have 1 car to restore but 2 (1976 & 1977) but they all suffer the same problem.
I am currently so desperate that I will scrap other 1977 343's in order to get these....
Other stuff e.g. bushes, panels, mechanics are pretty much covered so that I'll be able to bring the 1976 car back to nearly factory new condition.
I even have a new roofpanel so that I can, if needed, toss the sun roof if it is beyond repair.
Classicswede: what other bits do you have.

I've had a bit further a look at my 340 bits and the only other things I've noticed so far is a few spare spedo heads ( no extra gauges fitted just the std stuff). All the other things I've seen so far a common with the later cars.
