360 part-out weekend

I have a 1986 360 injection saloon to part out, and I could use some help & moral support. I plan to hit it in a weekend, and strip it back as far as we can before we get bored. Two days should see it pretty much a bare shell....at which point, I will start cutting some chunks out of it.

Some parts are spoken for (if you want anything in particular, let me know and I'll let you know if it's available). For the most part, you can have anything you want FOC if you come and help. I may ask for a little cash for 'valueable' items, but assume for now everything will be free if you come and help.

Accomodation is available in Lincoln. The car is in Worksop. I plan to work on it both Saturday and Sunday...with some sort of social activity on the Saturday night.

The plan is to attack it some time in August. The date has not yet been defined, but it won't be the weekend of the 16th/17th, and it won't be the bank holiday weekend. Any preference.

Let me know if you want to come along! A good time will be had...

cheers

James

Sounds good, ill be game if im free and the cars mot'd, sounds like a good chance to meet some more of the people behind v300mania. What parts are available id be game for a few interior parts and such, but might just come along to help and meet people lol.

Hey Dan,

I want most of the oily bits (but not all), although most of that stuff is 360-specific. Interior wise.....most of it is likely to be available, but the seats will have gone.

It's a good time to replace any little 'bits and bobs' which are missing / broken...the kinda stuff which is a fiddle to remove in a scrap yard (window motors, for example), or unavailable new.

cheers

I'd love to be a bit closer, stripping down a car is one of the best ways to find out how everything works. I'm not much of a swimmer and I can't even stand the thought of flying so will have to give it a miss. lol

Hope you guys have a blast!

Cheers!

Anne. :D

Hey Anne....yes, it's probably a bit of a long way for you to come...but if you do, bring AC bits! sm56

Sure Jason, feel free. It's that really common blue/green metallic colour.

I'd drown on the way! lmao

On a more serious note...do you think there might be a spare left side air vent "thingy" (sorry to go all girly on ya, but I don't know the correct term) It's the vent that blows A/C or heated air at the passenger, beside the door. :)

Also i only just realise that your in lincoln and this is a bit far lol so may train it, unless any southampton lot wanna jump in the car and chip in for petrol or we can do it the other way, either way im good.

Jason, with the model of car, I'm guessing it's the same colour as Fake. If I'm about I'll come along, just don't do it the 16/17th weekend. A car load from Soton sounds like a plan tbh.

yeah would be best to split petrol if we all go, hopefully I'll get round to doing a little panel inspection to see what if anything I need. I also want the dash so I can work on my switch/ gauge/ whatever stuff off the car to make it easier. Will have a think in a day or two...

16th/17th will be avoided for sure. Are you guys going to the RR event at Gaydon? I've just emailed about getting a stand.

Sadly not...4/5drs share door cars, but 3drs are unique. Wait for a drifter to strip another 1.7 3dr. They're the only ones which go sideways, you know! ;)

cheers
