Fiberglass Bonnets

Post by !skelp! »

Hi i just got back from visiting a mate who has been making various fiberglass parts for a little extra income from his 9-5. i was really impressed with what i saw - has been making battery trays for relocated batteries, front diffusers for rx7's, bonnets and wings for minis, and bonnets for 205's. my 340 is currently stored up at his farm and while we were having a look around it we got talking about doing bonnets for the volvo.

i am just testing the water just now, but he recons that he could do a nice copy of the bonnet for around 95 quid, this would be without the bonnet vent at the rear - would just be left open.

would anyone on here be interested?

so far he has not made one but if there is enough demand he could get one together. . . .

responses welcomed

cheers

Andrew

You will need stability bars moulded in the bonnet!

It should be mounted backwards, otherwise it would render those holes useless :D

Spotted these for sale @ blocket.se

Too bad I don't have room for those. I would've bought those otherwise and store them untill I can afford to start my 70's/80's style MK1 project..

you would have to do a lot of cutting if you wanted it on a road car I expect. Mainly because it's designed for rallycross/track so it won't have any light cut outs etc... doable though :D
