Trip Computers - Injection interface thingies

Ok, you're not going to believe this, but since I've moved into the monastry, I have a nicely organised workbench with electronic kit set up, and I've been working through a vast quantity of the "Chris' unfinished projects list"

So much so, that the trip computer interface is sat there at the moment, and for comically timed amusement, I just got a pm about it. Sooooo, I reckon... it might just be time to do something about it

Who wants one? I remember there was a guy with a squirted 200 a while back, and Adam, but these two could well end up being special cases, I'll know more when I look into that. 300's on LE jet is a simple not understanding whats going on, just making copies job, so *should* be easy.

So, questions to those who want them.

1) What ECU are you running
2) Would you like a prebuilt thingy, a kit with a properly made PCB, a kit with some stripboard type bodgery, just a circuit diagram
3) Erm, is there anything I've forgotten?

Well, i see the PM came right on time. Offcourse i am interested in the circuit for the injection unit. Standard LE jettronic injection, but maybe megasquirt will come later. Then the used fuel could be measured in the MS computer and sent to the driving computer..

I hope you find the time to look after this..

You mean after 2 years I can finally have a trip computer in my 760? The same 760 I scrapped a week ago..........?

*Waves hand wildly in the air* ME ME ME! If you remember Herr Chris, I have a certain carb board and required parts for fitment to a carbed engine......but require an EFI board. I'm planning on running it on a standard B200E on LE Jet for now. Any chance of a ready to rock and roll board to go straight in it please Mr Chris or something simple, otherwise it'll go on my pile of never completed jobs!

Cheers,

Pete

I cannot see why the standard setup wont work on my car chris as i know how to calibrate it all. It just takes pulses from the injectors so.....

so with this electronic thingy can I use any trip computer interface?

Me too, Chris!

However, both my cars have got standard LU jet due to the calatytic converter & oxygen sensor. I don't really think that makes much of a difference for your box of tricks though.

Ditto that ;-) Would welcome any extra instructions you can knock up - so an electronics dunce like myself is able to fit it ;-)

Thanks for taking the time & effort!

Tom

<edit>
Does the fact that my display unit has l/100km and km calibrations make a difference for the injection box? Or does the display unit work all that stuff out?

Interesting... can you calibrate it so that it works with any sized injectors then Adam?

If so, that possibly means we could use it for any trip computer... ok, I'll go through the green books. All other questions noted/requests listened too.

Tom, should be fine mate.

Hatch, hopefully... not sure yet, I'll certainly be bodging something to use on my turbo, it was going to be the 480 computer, not sure if it still will be (hopefully will be)!

Kaos, have a look in the blue leaflet section, it's a cash register type thing that shows fuel consumption/range. We are going to make it work on Adam's 16V so it should do in the long term.

Grandad, getting the 480 computer to work standalone is a completely different task :P

I will bring the setup sheet on sunday so you can have a look through, it just counts the pulses.
All will become clear on sunday!!! You still after a carb unit? for a comp?
As i could bring that along too?

Oh that's great, put me on the list too Chis!!! And I'm in the same situation as Tom, using the LU jetronic on my GLT and the "kilometers" display... Good luck and keep us informed about the developments!

Have you looked at it?

Erm... not quite ;) My car has been doing it's best to fall apart, and I've got an autotest tomorrow!
