cool! i've a late gle grill (ie, black grill but chrome edge) spare if you dont like the all-chrome look :)

It's funny, I quite like the silver grid on the grill to make it look all chrome on that one. It's a car that won't be back on the road though! I've been and had a look. The GLE badge does unclip, however one clip is missing. It will hold in place and looks quite good actually, so it's up to you Hugh, I can get you a couple of pics up if you like.

sounds good then. sure you aint got any leccy window motors you wanna flog me as well?? ;)

cant think of anything else i'm after at the mo, but give me a couple of days cos i'm sorting my car atm.. maybe a under-engine tray (plastic) if you have a spare?

I'll have a look Hugh, but TBH I don't think I can spare any window motors, as I said, I've definitely a use for one and I know how easily they go! As for the under engine trays, they were particularly vulnerable, and I've not checked them all, but I know my current car has one, but it has got one or two cable ties where some clips are missing. I'll have a look about for you though and let you know what I have that I could spare. We'll sort something out! How's the car coming along, got the side strip on?

nagh, any ideas on how to stick it?

It depends, silicone may work, but that would require some pressure too, a wedge of wood between a wall and the door!? Gripfil or similar would be a bit too bodge like for my liking and would rip half the door off if you ever needed to remove it. At least a neat bead of silicone would peel off if it was required. I think you can buy the adhesive pads/strips from Volvo or car parts places, but from what I've heard, even genuine ones are quite poor strength, it would require a really good clean surface to adhere to. Probably the best bet though, I think you could cut them to size and they'd work quite well.

might just use some double-sided sticky tape. dont care about the door - have you seen the state its in already?

Yeah, I spose so Hugh, that door looks a bit damaged. Here's a pic of the badge, you were very observant to have noticed it was a GLE badge on a GLT!

It's a shame that there's a clip missing, but it would fit ok, as long as the spacings are the same on the grill. At least 80mm wide on the horizontal and probably 30-32mm on the vertical spacings.

think that'll go nicely in a corner of my glt grill :)

you must be keen to go out in the pissin rain to get bits off cars mate!?

if you've got a spare 'bit of plastic that goes round the front 2 vents and hazard switch' and whatever behind that it fits too, and all related bits n bobs, i'll have them off ya too. not sure how big that is - ie how modular the section behind there is..

cant think of anything else right now, but gimme a couple of days :)

Hi Hugh,
Keen......? sm87 Nah, crazy.......a Volvo300Maniac! The section that goes around the vents and hazard switch comes out in a chunk like this!

At a guess I'd say your hazard switch is hanging out? As the small plastic join top and bottom normally snaps, which holds the swtich in on the two metal clips! My current GLT has this problem, as of about Tuesday of last week, so this one is going in there at some point, but I should have another good spare which I can remove for you!
