Fitting central locking, also heater illumination?

Are any of the old Volvos fitted with CL that can be retrofitted into my 360? I could get a universal kit, but was just curious to other alternatives. I plan to fit a Cat 1 and use the pulse wires to enable remote central locking.
I used the search and it didn't turn up much - more about electric windows.
Also, should the heater controls light up on an '84 360 (mk2?) It's crap not being able to see what's happening lol. When I pulled the knobs off the sliders there appeared to be something behind them but it looked fibre optic if anything
Any help appreciated as always

the central locking is different for a 3 and 5 doors version, i believe it has only been put on a mk2 and mk3, but i'm not sure.
yes the heater control should light up, there are one or two pieces of plastic (perspex) with a normal light shining on it to make the whole thing glow, this light is broken. when you remove the radio and the radio housing panel, there is a steel plate at the top of this hole. i believe this plate is held in place with 2 screws, nothing fancy. remove this panel and you can get to the light and change it:)

Cheers dude
Mine's a 3dr. Looks like a universal kit will be the best bet. I will fix the illumination tonight providing the bulb isn't a crazy fitment lol

It's a simple wedge bulb, but if anything like a mk3 expect to remove a load of the dash then change the bulb whilst standing on your head

Sound mate

I was hoping for glove box out / hand in to shove old skool 'wireless' out

then not much more TBH. Maybe I'm being naive lol

Yeah, thats pretty much it, in the mk3 after the radio's out 2 screws drop a metal sheet/heatshield jobbie out, then 2 more screws and that control slider panel will drop down (but not out as the 2 bowden cables are still attached. Ninja reaching round should see you get to the bulb holder, then its just a case of trying to get the bulb out of the holder, smashing it, digging out all the little bits and plopping the new one in.
Erm, one thing, I can't remember whether that bulb is a 12V or a 24V one... It'll be in Andy's list in tech resources.
EDIT: for linky

All done lol Ninja hands FTW. I pulled all sorts off the controls before I found the bulb holder though

Including the clips that hold the temp/direction cables and now one is behind the dash
WTF is with that metal plate under the controls? Weird design! My original radio comes out with ease now, fingers in the tape hole. it used to put up a fight lol. I even replaced the bulb on my cig lighter whilst I was there. Posh as fuck now
One concern though, only about 2/3's of the heater controls light up. With there being only one bulb does that mean my controls are knackered and not 'spreading' the light properly?
No worries with the bulb either, I robbed one from my Nissan project
Cheers lads

If it's only 2 thirds... hmm, do you have the coloured blue to red slider, or the 4 sliders? I don't know if the 4 sliders had 2 bulbs? certainly only 1 on the red/blue one
