Indicators. Switched +ve or switched -ve?

Post by OapEM »

As above, I am wanting to know if the 360 uses a switched positive or switched negative feed for the indicators. I need to connect an output from my alarm but I'm not sure what to do. It says if the car is switched +ve then connect to 12v if -ve it needs to go to ground.

The wiring seems to be as follows:

GREY = +ve into stalks
RED = left hand side +ve out
PURPLE = right hand side +ve out

Connecting it to these did not have the desired effect - although I think it has blown the fuse as now the indicators won't work! Main beam/wipers/hazards etc are all fine though.

Which fuse is for the indicator circuit? I am about to search now but it never hurts to ask! Haynes isn't very clear to me and I'm not near my owners manual!

Thanks again, Liam.

LOL well there's my fuse answer. No. 7. I will look when I'm back at the car. I assume it's seven along from the left on the top row?
I know I need to buy some fuses, last time I saw this type was on my mates early bay window :lol:

I can give you a fuse, but obviously I'd never recommend driving without indicators :lol:
There's a diagram of the fuse numbers on the inside of the box lid. Can't help with the alarm wiring though, too modern for me :oops:

:oops: Ah a diagram on the lid no way! I'm used to my other motor that doesn't tell you what's in the relay/fuse boxes lol

Guess that's what I get for not looking! :oops: I think a trip to Beamish or Halfords is needed then lol. Cheers for the offer dude, you're right though. I'd probably die before I seen you :lol:

Aye it's just a load of numbers though, no diagrams or owt. But the haynes can fill in the rest, it just helps you work out which one's what number.

I did this about 6 years ago... but really can't remember what I did! Have a look through the green books, the wiring diagrams in them are awesome. I took the feeds off the hazard light switch, but thats about all I can remember!

Cheers man. The green books? I have a workshop manual and a Haynes but it aint green. Also the wiring diagrams weren't that clever, didn't even include the courtesy light by the ignition barrel :lol:

300's without Green Books is like... I dunno, something without something else! Download the wiring diagrams one, and you'll see what I mean about the pictures.
