Collapsed n/s/f Strut

Sods law - having just filled up my E-reg 1.4 'shitter' about a minute away from my house the n/s/f starts making some very strange rumbling noise, when I get back I find that the strut cup has collapsed. Jacking up reveals that the tyre hasn't been too badly damaged (due to the distance from home and low speed travelled no doubt) and that a section of the spring has sheared at the bottom. What's the best answer - a new coil spring and weld the cup?

D'oh, unlucky with that - it's a horrid problem, especially as you can't just buy new struts so easily anymore!

I'd do what you suggested, new spring (springs really as you should replace both at the same time), and a new cup... George Mitchell sells the strut cups from Friends of the 300. I think Hadrian repair panels might do too!

NOR / Klokkerholm still produce the cups:

EDIT:
Hadrian / Beavers are NOR / Klokkerholm stockists, so you might like to try them. Hadrian has a part on their website called a "front suspension seat" which sound like what you need ...
