240 4pod calipers, the complete and true story!

I've used the search, and found a lot about it...One says 240 4pods fit on there, like a glove, the next one says they dont.
Couple of questions:
1. What type of caliper is needed (there are 3 types, if im right)
2. Has anyone mounted them?
3. What type of discs did u use?
4. Mods needed?
I know I can find it out the hardway: Buying some calipers and see how it fits...But if anyone knows the secrets about them? I'd love to know

1. Mine are off d-reg, 2.0
2. custom bracket to space them out
3. VW Corrado G60/Golf Rallye, 275mm
4. custom bracket for calipers, machining to discs to fit hub
240 calipers also work on dual circuit, You need new lines and y-piece or convert them to single circuit.

joni, you got a pic of the braket?
ive got a set waiting for me to pic them up.
Im ausuming to convert them its just a case of putting a bleed nipple in the other hole as per a normal car?

Curious to see the bracket too!
Last part I can explain, I heared couple of storys about that. Put a bleed nipple in one hole, and dril a channel from the first to the second hole...Other option: Use a T bit, and get another short bit of copper line(?)...

I'l get some pics of bracket.
to convert them to single circuit You have to remove pistons, drill hole between bottom of caliper, both sides.
Then blank of other "feed" hole.
If You just put bleed nipple's in, You'l have only two pistons working.
They work well as twin circuit as well, just copper pipe to T mounted on side of bottom of strut, and std V300 hoses..

got a pic of doing that then, i think i understand, solid brake line to T piece then from T piece 2 front brake hoses per side one to each slot on the caliper? how much more brake fluid needs to go in?

I've got a pair of refurbished solid-rotor 240 4-pots caliper weighing down a box in my room...
Once tried them on a 340 strut to see if they would fit...
My guess is it would work if you thread the holes correctly... just need a pair of nice discs to go with them.

You will need bigger master cylinder, to get good pedal. Both me and 340GLT found this out..
And You need calipers for vented discs..

Right, bought a set of 240 vented girlings...Took my old front shockers from the garage, and compared...Not a direct fit....
Bummer I thought, but then I realised, my old shockers have 2 pod 343 calipers(girling)...And thats different than 340 calipers. So maybe its still a direct fit...
In short: I know nothing more than I did.
Edit: I did a simple measurement to my 360 (without taking caliper of) and seems to be right the same size...! Im curious how much bigger discs are possible in that setup...

The 240 4 pots will bolt to the 300 legs not aproblem but finding a suitable disk is more awkward.

Is there a disk you've found that goes on fairly straightforwardly Adam?

Not with the 240 4 pots, i discarded them due to there weight, they are damn good calipers though...

True that, there quite heavy, but I think 99% of the 4pods is heavy. High-spec alu 4pods, will set you back a lot of money!

^^^ Adam found an OEM alloy 4pot which solves that problem too.

RX7 alloy 4pots go for peanuts on E-Bay...There's also Subaru, Nissan, Toyota..options are endless!!
I used 200 4pots, as they were "free"..
