I got an omex clubman single coil one, about £80. It's tricky to wire into a renix though, and when I set it it made the biggest, massivest backfire as the soft cut came in. I plan to mess about with it a bit more later, for now I'm just watching the rev counter carefully. Is yours not injection? Or was it bike carbs> I suck at remembering.

Injection son. I know a very good auto electrician who could do it in that case. I always thought it would be in the ecu.

I'm no expert but i'm fairly sure it should be in/on the ECU if it's runnuing all the standard engine management still?

Mine has got one and it's all standard, sure you just haven't hit it yet

What ECU are you runnning? If its original management it will have a limiter.

I have no idea, I assume it's the original. He did say when I picked it up that it didn't have one.

I'll text him tomorrow.

I dunno, I'll find out more tomorrow. I hope it's still there, don't want to go the expensive way of finding out either.

if its chipped it'll have been raised gunner chips are up in the 7200 region, prima knock them up to 8k, and so on, i knwo a guy that will set the chip to what ever rev limit you want when you order a chip from him :)

mines hit the rev limiter in third and bounces nicely. shame i was going up hill at the time

Been reading up on how the clio ECU works, it looks like it's pretty simple to change. I've got access to an EEPROM programmer at work, so if anyone's interested in having the rev limit changed, I'd be happy to do it.
Until I know a bit more about tuning ECUs, I'd be reluctant to change anything else, unless you had a specific map you wanted. I'd be happy to do this for free if anyone's interested, as the actual programming is quite a trivial job.
Looks like the 16v club have it quite nice when it comes to remapping, in terms of simplicity :)

Took the ecu out, looked inside, nothings missing, so I take it there's still a rev limiter in there. Don't know why he said there wasn't. I'll put pics up tomorrow for you to see it.

Out of curiosity, how much does a super chip cost? What are the figures like?

What do you mean by superchip?

There's a guy in the williams forum selling chips with a different map for £40. A bit cheeky I think, as he's just copying (ripping off) someone else's chip. If you have the equipment, it's just a case of plugging in the EEPROM and programming it. I Don't think you'll see that much of an improvement in 'figures' until you change the cams, etc, and then you'd probably need a custom remap anyway.

I'll do you a copy of my 'proffessionally tuned' chip and you can see if that makes a difference if you like?

That guy isnt ripping off another chip, he has redeveloped the chip on a faster chip and has had his own car dynoed at different specs of tune and uses his own chips, i have one sat he waiting for my cams to arrive.
