My question was answered at Wielhoven. Here is what they wrote:
Hi there,
ok, here´s the story.
Koni have made 25 sets of race shocks for the Volvo 360. These were made on
my request because there wasn´t a good suitable shock for sale in the
market.
Some people of the race dept. of Koni and I developed this shock, and after
that made the sets.
These dampers are sold out at the moment, so I can´t help you, unless....
Koni can make a new badge for me, starting with 25 sets. I can´t sell
another 25, because there are racing 35 cars, and I already sold 25.
I can sell 12/13 sets, so if you´re able to sell the other 12/13, I can have
them made.
Price is 250,-- per set, and that´s manufacturer´s price, so there is no
profit.
Perhaps it´s interesting?
The shocks are made to std. length specs, so lowering is not needed, but
off-course it gives better handling.
Picture shows what we do with the Volvo´s.
Weee! Lets maka another 25 of them...
Wielhoven is only 20 mins driving from my home so I think I am going to have a chat with him about these shock's... €250,- for 4 shocks... that's nice...
I'll Post it on the Dutch forum www.Volvo300Club.nl, I think there are more peeps willing to buy a set.
Maybe it is usefull to have a dutch contact person who can talk to the dudes at Wielhoven...? Pick Me! Pick Me! Pick Me! Pick Me!
I did not see Konis there, but I took a fast look.
Peter from Wielhoven told me how V360Cup got started and how this Koni stuff started also, there just can't be these shocks anywhere else, they are not same as those original 360 shocks are, these Konis are designed by Koni and Wielhoven, there is only 25 in whole world and if we can make it to 12 or 13 orders then there will be 25 more.
I have now counted 6 interested votes from here and from finnish forum. If there is more than 12 buyers, I believe Koni will make more shocks so no problem there
bodejodel I told about you to Peter too. Let's see how things develop, I'm thinking about ordering in April, but that is not written in stone yet.
I don´t have a job right now but i just had a real good job interview.
I´f i get this job then i´ll buy a set.
Combine those things to a set off front lowering springs, strutbrace and my car corners like mad.
Put me down for a set too...
Let me know if I can help or go take a look at those nice shocks.
I can combine it with a visit to my (inlaw)grandparents!
If we do a group buy... maybe it will be cheaper.
I could use a strutbrace and some lowering springs too... Then i can Kill some GTI's...
I have counted now 5 confident votes and also 4 perhaps votes. I'm thinking of buying 2 sets, one could be reserve for future
But lot depends from my money situation after 3 months, need save a bit more for two sets.
Oh yes, those I'm interested too, as I would love to get realistic values to LFS where I have build 360 setup
Did you know that real race team is using LFS to help setting up a car? Team was called McGill or something, their car is Mrt5, it is those University race serie cars.
Kind of http://www.liveforspeed.net/, I can make pretty close to 360 with lfstweak pro tool, but car shape is one that cannot be changed.
Almost anything in suspension can be adjusted in game, also gear ratios and stuff like that and with lfstweak I can make Volvo engines and set wheel placement.
I'm interested in a set, I need a new set anyway, and I was going to get OEM from the dealer, but if these are better then I might go for these, particularly as they're probably cheaper than the Volvo ones anyway.
I'm quite interested too.. the state of my shocks aren't great! However, what front springs can you use with the front Koni shock absorbers? I'd imagine you'd need different ones to the OEM Volvo parts?
