Not another one, I'm sure this was for sale say 3-4 weeks ago with NO MOT and it was about £400

According to the seller it will appreciate by 10% a year if maintained in its present condition. Who needs banks....??!

Seems a fair price for a 4 door, mines a 3 door and worth twice that much..........

Some people really have no idea do they, funny thing is, some one, some where would probably pay that.

He said that one recentantly went for £2,500. I wonder if the plonker who bought it will actually own up.
Cheers Mark.

I've sent the seller an email asking if he can let me know where ANY variants of 340s are selling for £2500 as I'd like to advertise mine there. I've suggested to him that the upper limit for extremely nice cars tends to be around £600 and he may therefore be waiting a long time for someone who is enthusiatic enough to offer anything like the price he's asking.

I've also asked him to quantify his comment that the car will appreciate by 10% per annum as in my experience 340 values have remained static (or even reduced) over the last few years.

It will be interesting to see his reply, if any...

To be fair a 1983 360 GLS with about 18k miles DID sell for well over £1000 on ebay and I seem to recall a Mk1 5 door 1.4 GL sell for £1200 a couple of years back. However, the only way it can warrant that price is if it truly is mint. Remember that buying a mint car for that kinda money is far cheaper than buying an average condition 300 and spending money getting it up to scratch....

To be honest I don't tend to monitor 360 values but I still reckon a mint 340 with full history and no work necessary is only worth £700 tops. It would have to be a very special car indeed to top a grand. After all, thats why we like them - they're a lot of car for not much money...

Absolutely! If the car is as good as the owner says it is, it's worth the price ... How often does a mint Mk1 turn up? Not that often ...

But this is a Mk1 ;-) Not a big-bumper MkIII ...
