valver conversion

hi people, new to the forum.

just got myself a 340 1.7 very clean 2 door. some of you may have seen it on ebay..........gold 2 door in brentwood???

any way im looking to do a clio valver conversion and would like some info on it, i plan on getting a complete clio either crashed or rotten!

ive heard you need to change bell housing and sump? then obviously theres some wiring to it! any advice would be much appreciated

also....... how can i stiffen up the rear? ive heard suzuki sj leaf springs??????

Hi stu,

a search would give you your answers but here goes anyway.

You will need to use the 340 1.7 sump bellhousing and engine mounts to fit it in. Inlet manifold will need to be altered or remove the heater box. Most either wire in the ecu for FI or other wise convert to carbs and use teh volvo ignition system.

To stiffen up the rear a good set of dampers will improve things quite a bit.

SJ springs sound interesting!

I'm going to 'double leaf' mine, add stiffer dampers, and lower on some blocks from Dai. (classicswede). I'll post the results and my opinions when it's done!

Dai have you thought about doing like suspension kits? Like option 1, 2 and 3 etc?

found myself a complete valver lump inc loom for £120 over on www.clio16valver.co.uk

collecting it at the end of the month :D :D
