Hi, after messing about with spray cans and sandpaper. I thought Id be ready to change my clutch, which is really needing done.
55,000 miles from new and the clutch is worn out, who was driving this thing?

I would have loved to share some pictures but my hands were to dirty so You'll just have to use your imagination.

I found the down pipe bolts very difficult to access, and at the other end the rust was just too much so the exhaust was sawn, but thats OK because I want rid of the middle box anyway .

The most annoying bit of all is a seized nut on the clutch cable which will not come off. If it wasn't for this I could have had the bell housing off and back on by now (well maybe not with the way things are going). I think the draper (dremmel copy) or nut splitters will be useful the next time I can get a look at the car.

So after 2 days Ive got the manifolds, carb, and downpipe off. Anyone would think I was searching the entire engine trying to find where it kept its clutch.

My current estimation is that the 340 wont be back out on the road for a few months

Anyone else have this much trouble, or got any advice?

the nuts on the end of the cluthc cable are tightened down on each other,

you want 2 small 10mm spanners one for each nut. then just undo it.

I have a new-but used 1.4 downpipe if you need one.

The problem I had was that there was a third 10mm nut that was wound all the way along the tread and was jammed. Took it off with the help of a V40 driver and a dremmel. and then the bellhousing came off!

Changed the clutch!
Just need to put the exhaust, intake manifolds, carb, water hoses and some other stuff back on and see if it works.
