yeah we've noticed it
it is JUST what i want, except nearly the wrong colour (i'd prefer the jet black metallic), and it would have to run on expensive fuel (being a b19).. those things wouldnt matter to me thou.. what does.. is that its 300 miles from me
i think i'll give him a ring and tell him that if he doesnt sell it, to give me a ring.

Don't worry about the fuel 'thing' i.e. 4star. I ran a B19 for 3 years on normal unleaded with no probs. If it pinks either adjust the ign. timing or try super unleaded. It would take a hell of a lot of use before valve seat res. on these engines became noticable !!
Dave, why's it not for you & definetely just out of interest (as I've no space for it !!), where is it ?
Also, just thinking, it maybe a b200 as that was the cross over year & it has got the new shape alloys, which would suggest it's an 85 model.
Cheers,
john.

The car is in County Durham, Chester Le-Street. I thought it was at the top end price range for the model but was prepared to pay (Even went with the cash in my pocket)
Even though the car was described as fantastic condition there was quite a lot of bubbling rust on both front and back arches which for a garaged low mileage car even at 19 years old was more than I thought reasonable (again at that price)
The car was advertised as having 6 months MOT, in fact it had only a few weeks. I was still prepared to make a good offer but he told me that someone had made a full asking price offer the previous night.
Don't know if that was his way of making a sales pitch but that was enough for me, shame really, still a nice car and it will be on the road for a long while yet.
So..... Still looking

I did wonder if it was worth talking to one of the local Volvo dealers to see if they get any trade in's of 340/60 vintage, I am sure it does happen.
That is if they will lower themselves to talk to me..

It then seems reasonable why you declined it

Especially with the confusion about the MOT and its described as immaculate but with rust?? I think it is still possible to find a Mk2 with little rust (theres one in the local scrapyard!

) and therefore £495 seems a bit optimistic, and I doubt a full asking price offer will have been made so soon judging by the problems!
I've seen a low mileage GLE for sale too... but it's near Glasgow!
Volvo 360gle 42,000 genuine miles. C Plate. 19 years old, but in immaculate condition. 1 years mot, no tax. Sensible offers wanted. Genuine calls. Tel: (07092) 626896
Price: £500.00

I too think there are a lot of good solid low mileage cars just hidden away unused in garages. The trick is to spot them when they come up for sale. I should be able to find one locally with a little patience.
Shame about the one I went to see though. I think the seller might have had some emotional attachment to it so would have wanted top price for it whatever!. Oh, I did make a mistake... went to see it driving my wife's brand mew Mondeo (Company car!!!) Not a good move, if you want to negotiate it is better to look as if you are going to have to give your last penny to afford it (I was it just did not look like it LOL)
