Hey everyone,
Looking for a cheap 3 door. Don't mind whether its a 1.4,1.7 or 2.0 Just needs to have some MOT and be cheap as chips.
I need a daily driver for a few months and miss my old 340. If anyone has one thats amazing
Closer to the north west the better. Not too fussed about condition.
Cheers
Matt

Hi Matt, mine has not got any MOT on it or tax, but I am coming upto Rochdale sometime during the next month to collect a car, so could possibly deliver.
Ian.

Hi,
Cheers for the reply, I am keen on getting the car but it is a real put off with it having no T&T. I just want something I can jump into and use and not have to work on.
Do you think it would require a lot to sort it out?
Cheers
Matt

Definately sills sorting out. How cheep is cheep? To find one that needs a little work will be hard unless you are prepared to travel, as they tend to rot quite badly and finding one that has allready been worked on or restored will cost you in excess of £600 for a nice one. Sometimes orriginal low milage models turn up, but most of the owners have died and the family selling them are looking for unreasonable prices. If you could give us some idea of what sort of cash you are willing to spend, then people who have not yet advertised their car for sale, or may just be thinking about it will reply. I also know that people on here will also give you a shout if they come accross something that may be of interest to you. Other than this, have a look on ebay, There are some nice 300's on there at the moment.
Hope this helps and I will keep my eyes open for you.
Ian.

Well I have had a 340 before and I did a fair bit of work on that to get it through the mot. Jacking points, sills etc. So this time around I would like one which needs as little work as possible. The reason I put cheap as possible is I know a fair amount of 300's look quite tatty and I am really fussy, so basically unless its a 3 door I wont want to pay that much haha.
I can fork out about £500 for a nice one. preferably a 1700 but I'm not that fussed. The money really depends on the car.

Tax, MOT and such a lovely looking car. I can't afford it myself at the moment as I have to go to Rochdale and collect my new 360 glt, but this realy needs to go to a good home.

Not that this is going to be of any real help Chesh, but I think we're all finding that the days of 'good, cheap' 300s has sadly passed.
Theres not a great deal left.
drifters and thrashers are eating them up rather quickly.
theres seriously a great deal fewer on ebay/autotrader etc this year, than there was say two years ago.
And so, prices are going up.
Ive seen 'reasonable standard' 360s going for £650 recently, and even scabby 1.4 340s changing hands for 350-450 with t and t.
i hope you get a good 1.7 mate.
they ARE out there, and can be had for reasonable money, but you really have to bide your time and travel tbh.
Johnny on the spot with the money normally wins.
Good luck mate.

body work is in really good condition, very little rust etc. loads of reciepts etc mot paper work stuff like that.
94k, guy who owned it before me probally never took it over 70 as he is an old git, lol.
only 2 problems
you miles from me, i'm in southampton
plus ideally i'd need another car by the time it went, and i want a yellow 106, finding it hard to find one atm

Never a trueererer word spoken. It's beginning to annoy me now. RWD are getting rarer in all shapes and forms, not saying you cant drift them or rally them etc, just they manage to find nice examples, ripp it to shreds, have a large punch up with a kirb 'cause they ran out of dori skillz yo, then bin it or ask stupid money for it.
Rant over, I;m sure I've typed that out before, but at least I'm consistent.
Glad you found one Matt.
