There is a classic car meeting on Monday December 28th between 11am-3pm at Becketts Farm, Wythall, Nr Birmingham (B47 6AJ) if any local 300 drivers fancy meeting-up to blow-out the Christmas cobwebs. I was going to take the Zastava but I'll take my 340 instead if anyone's up for it.
Becketts Farm is about half a mile from M42 Junction 3 and is around 8 miles south of Birmingham. They have a farm shop, hot food and sandwich counter plus a restaurant. I've never been to one of their classic car meetings but I understand they're well attended with a good mix of vehicles turning-up.
Let me know if anyone's up for it and we can perhaps arrange a meeting place and arrive together..

Yep, I'll be going to that! Went to one in August and there's generally a load of interesting cars there. Although no 300 for me

Should still be going, I'll be in a blue S70... although I'll try not to take up valuable retro car parking space

I'll be there in the maroon 340. It would be good to see anyone else who can make it.

We forgot to take the camera although I did take a few pics on my phone if I can work out how to upload them..
I was amazed at the turn-out so soon after Christmas. I spotted one other 340 - a beige 5 door DL on a B plate but otherwise there was everying from 'sit up and beg' Ford Pops to a Plymouth Belvedere, an immaculate 1981 Citroen Dyane, a handful of 2cvs, Lamborghini Estrada, Bond Minicar, Hillman Minx Estate, Vandem Plas 1500 (Allegro), Mk 1 Escort Motorhome, Hillman Imp, WW2 Jeep, Daimler Ferret armoured car, MGs, Bristols, Jensens etc etc. There was also a good assortment of rods and customs and loads of old Vespas and Lambrettas. The car park was completely full when we left at around 1.30 and cars were still turning-up...
On the whole it ws an excellent day although rater chilly..
They apparently hold an evening meet on the 2nd Tuesday in the month starting from April and from what I saw today I would thoroughly recommend it..

Lots of variety and some excellent sounding TVR's. Saw the other 340 too (it was also at the one I went to in August) and uploading pics now... didn't spot you in the end Ian but saw your clean 340!.. maybe at the next one!

That 340 is supreme.
Really dig the cambered bug too.
Cheers Steve.
Good snapping.
Can someone ask the 340 owner if I can have dibs if he ever decides to sell it next time round?
Seriously.

To be honest I've never been a fan of 'supercars' and having been in the motor trade since I was 17 I can't think of anything that I still have a burning desire to drive except I've always had a soft spot for Lamborghinis - ever since I owned a yellow Dinky Muira and a green Countach with 'Speedwheels' when I was about 12...
