Very nice, especially the colour. Where did you get the coachline from? I have a similar one on my 1980 model, but I've not really seen it on many other cars.

The coachline was added to special editions and late's as far as I'm aware. It's on my '91 (a silver silver stripe.. there was also a black/black pair and silver/black pair I think) but not on my '89.

Having said that, I remember when Mum traded her '88 in around 1991 for her 440, the dealer added the pinstripe to her 340 as we were leaving.

I think it's all very random with coachline pin stripes, I think Foggy's original silver GLE has one and they've had that from nearly new. Sometimes they can look pretty good in the right colour combination

My GLE is a close colour match to Ians. And has a similar coachline. I presume from new, as theres no reciept for it, and theres reciepts for everything else from new.
I think it suits the car well.

I bought the coachline on a roll from Ebay, £4.95 with free postage...
