Happy new year, it is that time of year again, when we submit some of our hard earned money to China and will have few seconds of flashing light that makes loud noises, wonderful
I did already shoot my explosives as I don't like to make noise too late at night, was fun as always
One of last times when we got to blow something, in a future nothing big is allowed, damn those who are responsible from such spineless decisions, soon there is no any man activity left. Well, I can make my own kabooms, so year from now on, there will be even louder kabooms

Congrats to all, you have made it past 2009 and see what the future brings among us at 2010, flying cars, laser pistols, time travels, anti gravity and travels to other civilizations in some other galaxies
What, science fiction was not a documentary

Damn, I have been cheated
Anyway happy this new year

we have a stupid fireworks law in holland, that you have to buy it at local dealerships (rubbish fireworks too) they don't have that in belgium and somehow it seems strange that a load of dutch people cross the border to get their fireworks
there's another dutch tradition when it comes to celebrating the end of a year:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kk5YUQPN ... re=related
it's called "carbid schieten" and though you usually do it with a milk tank, you can also use something a fair bit larger like in that movie

Same here, just substitute Holland with Ireland and Belgium with Northern Ireland.

Wonderful 'cannon', I would love to make something like that, but they did ban proper fertilizers from here, so can't get enough power to it. There are of course some alternatives, but it could be that I can't quite measure right amount of product, it is no fun when cannon explodes
Line up of different cannons, that would fire in sequence, making it sound like happy new year, is one ultimate project, maybe some day

medium sized bags of Fertilizer mixed well with a certain amount of peroxide.
Throw in 1x1 of flour and you will have a big pop.
As long as there is a seperate ignition source, flour will amplify the explosion quite highly.
Not that I have any wish to see a big explosion, but they ARE cool.
