Has anyone every stuck them back on? I know the drifter lot like to remove them, as they are all skillful enough never to bump a car and therefore don't need them ( ) but I want to stick some back on.

The one styling thing that stops Fake looking right in my mind is that she's got thin 340 bump strips, and with the colour coded bumpers it just doesn't look right


As opposed to the non stop black line round the car it should have


Anyone got any ideas what to use? They are stuck with pure magic if you've ever tried to remove some

Petrol is pretty corrosive, then perhaps lots of sticky stuff remover to get rid of the adhesive on the doors after removing?

i think that the even the thick bump strips are placed slightly too high, it's not a perfect all round line. i'm still very much doubting whether to place those on my 340T or not, haven't made up my mind yet

they are stuck on with a good quality 2 side tape, i bet that if you go to a proper parts shop they'll be able to help you

Yeah Chris your car would look great with the thick bump strips... originally they are stuck on with adhesive tape, but it must be special stuff

i used sticky stuff remover, its on ebay for a few quid however mine was the thinner rubber sidestrips but it should work the same either way i think.

I'm thinking about marking out so that it is a continuous line, I'll have to measure where Kar's are as that got thick bump strips being a late 340.

The 340 ones aren't that hard to get off, I used a blade like one from a break off type knife to get the corner up then hot air and pull it off slowly.

You can stick it on with a double sided sponge tape, available from Halfords (trim tape I think). The key is to make the surface super clean with meths or something before sticking.

I think the only thing you'd have to be weary of is that I think your 340 rubbing strips sit slightly higher than the thicker rubbing strips so hopes it wont pull any paint off with it and you can get rid of all the residue. Although I seem to remember us attacking the strips on my 360 with a crowbar (before the car was scrapped!) and the paint was fine

Which do you think are getting put on Fake is your old car, just not slow

Proper bodyshop trim tape will work fine mate, to remove though pull them off slowly, i use a bodyfiller scraper to start off as its plastic and doesnt scratch.
Then a it of thinners to remove residue.

i have a set of brand new thick plastic trims comes with the double sided tape if it helps.
