You need to remove casing from one as those with 200 series are with glass and metal/plastic frame, similar to any aftermarket, but frame near glass is shallower than most aftermarket gauges, imo.

But as plug and play as any 52mm gauge, with some modifications that is?

Cheers dude, was thinking of bodging a modded 240 gauge pod in somewhere for extra gauge goodness.
Seem to be rather plentyfull.

Much appreciated.

Here is 760 with modded gauge to dashboard install, it is not really too difficult job to take internals of gauge and mount them to 360 instrument cluster, but it requires in some cases modifications to instrument cluster as there were some space restrictions: I have no idea if 700 series had accessory gauges to instrument cluster like 360? 240 did not, unless those latest models had, but not at least in 83 or before.

240 gauge, also gauge shroud seen:

240 gauges in shrouds:

Here you can see gauges without that plastic shroud, note how gauge frame is rather shallow, that is only thing special in those when compared to any other aftermarket gauge.

I was thinking of chopping a 'three gauge shroud' down to 2 and mounting in the centre console.
But I'll have to measure up.

You could get aftermarket 2 gauge holder, those gauges are easily taken off from those shrouds as they are just kind of gauge holders. Also you can get those plastic shrouds from Volvo for small sum of money, if they are still available, they were 2-3 years ago. So it is not necessary to cut original stuff that are not made anymore

Kar had a 3 x 2" gauge holder in the stereo mount.

200 gauges are what were used for the 300 series gauge panels

I never use my radio/magnetic tape player and its started eating tapes so I was actually thinking of gauging that gap Chris.
Good to know.

Now to snag some cheap 200 dials.

Nor the gearstick, blue led's, silver dash, and the 480 abomination.. (although the latter is pretty cool!) ;)

I don't like the silver that much anymore, used to really love it. But then I felt the same when I sprayed it, and it grew on me. The info centre switch needs to be mounted better too.

I'm waiting for all the drifty types I've abused for ruining their car's to pick up on this

Why you want to do that mod when you can have a gauge panel of me? Have a 240 one if you want to try it though

I don't know if this is any use, but if you plan to install some into 360 instrument cluster there are some informative bits:

But is is really simple to install those 240 gauges in place of radio, I have been looking for photos of my installation (I have two aftermarket gauges in place of radio) but haven't been able to find, not sure if I have taken such pics then either
