Hey guys, just had a quick though, I doubt it, but is there an EPC of any sort from Volvo which the 300 series can be found under??

Just wondering as I have a few of various manufacturers EPC's on my computer, there always helpful, not just for gaining part numbers but just to help see how things look under the bonnet before actually doing so?

Just wondered if there was a name for it if so or anything in order to try and "acquire" it at all?

Not really clear what you mean, lots of online sellers have an Electronic parts catalogue, its how you find the part you want to buy.

Do you perhaps mean like a workshop manual or a graphical cad view of a part manufacturers range?

Last time I was in a UK Volvo dealers sm11 , they used the EPC to look up Volvo 300 series parts, but from memory, it only went back to about '85. So yes, there is an EPC, but getting your mitts on it is another matter... In fact at same dealer group, different branch, they had a cupboard with a microfiche reader and a load of old Volvo / DAF parts fiches

The exploded diagrams in parts books are sometime far more useful than workshop manuals in showing how things go back together again.

The VADIS system only covers the model years 85-91 for the 300-series. This is "available" on eBay and torrents. And even then, it only has the parts catalogue, no electric diagram (but fortunately that is available here, the relevant Green Book has been scanned).

The newer VIDA system is built so it contacts the Volvo servers periodically (once a day? often, anyhow) to update itself so even if you get the disc, it's useless without a username + password to the Volvo servers. Also if you block the connections, it will just lock itself up.

I have the 1985 parts book which I've been meaning to scan for a long time now, still haven't done it... I now have the 1985-1991 and 1980-1984 microfiche as well, but no reader or scanner, and because I got them cheap, there seems to be some damage to the film at places.
