Hmmmm.
Took the car for a good power wash and vallet to delsalt it thoroughly after the snow and slush we've had of late.
After getting up close and personal with the pressure washer and blasting all the filth off, Ive come across a worrying amount of stone chips.
The ice has seemingly somehow deposited 16 billion tons of loose gravel all over the rural roads and created potholes everywhere.
Leading to paint damage.

There looks to be many many tiny white marks right along the sill line and around the arches.
Im presuming that the loose stones have chipped the paint and exposed primer/undercoat?

Im taking the car to have the new bumper/snowcap colour matched, and to tidy an old touch-up on the wing soon and so was wondering the following:

How plausable is it to have stone chips touched up? is it something thats generally 'done' ?
I dont really want to whole go bottom half respray, but im not sure a painter will want to be faffing around dabbing up a million chips.

Anyone had any experience in this area?

I suppose at the end of the day, its all going to happen again next year anyway.

Ask the body shop their opinion mate, it really depends on the place.

If you're really careful with an artists brush you might be able to touch them in yourself.
Ive surprised myself with the results sometimes.

Even better if it's Jet Black, you can use Hammerite (Black)

you could touch them up, but tbh i think it may look worse

i used to work in mercedes and quite a few come in with stone chipped fronts, and the ones that had been touched in, even the ones done well, looked shit

if you ask them to touch up the chips they will its quite a common request
we get a lot of cars in for touch ups of stone chips and such like at my work
