hello everybody...

i have a 1986 340 that has been idel for a couple of years now (due to me not being around ) and is in a pretty bad shape...anyhow i still love this car very much and would like to know if there is any way to replace the motor ( 1.6 ) with a more powerfull one for a reasonable sum of money... and if so what models will work in it ?

do you mean 1.7 or 1.4 i dident know they did a 1.6

1.6 is the diesel engine right? Not too sure as they didn't sell them here! If it is, a swap to a 1.7 petrol would be a good start

I reckon the 1.7 is probably the best engine to swap to if thats what you want to do. Dont really know that much about the diesel, Are 340's still quite common there. If they are it might be easier and cheaber to replace the whole car with a 340 1.7 rather than doing an engine swap.

You can also buy a 360. Then you have a 2 litre injection with about 115 hp..
