james said that.. shame i dont wanna put my insurance up..

i wouldnt mind those mystic theoretical alloys from the broscure.. i think they do exist.. think about it - we KNOW that glt alloys (early) were common back in the day, but now - how often do you see them on a car?

John...I can get you a set of those at that kind of price any time!

However, I have a suggestion - how about a slightly different style? Maybe even just the almost identical version with slit in the spokes? There were *loads* of alloys for the 400s, so it seems a shame to have two cars with the same relatively rare style. I'm not doing this with selfish intent, honest!

Let me know if you'd like me to post up a little 'gallery'.

cheers

They were for 'Hug', but may end up the silver one, which in turn may have a 2.3 16v installed in it, but that's another story & a chat again with you James over what needs to be done (1 engine mounting, manifold, sump change & some wiring due to twin pick ups on bellhousing ?)

If I were to get another set, I'd only want the T5 style, as I think they really suit the GLT (not because you've got them James - honest !!!!!), so let me know peeps if you see any good 'ens.

Probably best to look at Mark Higgins car (should be at the Easter meet). For novelty value I'd be rather tempted to go for a B204 (2.0 16v), or even a 204 turbo, as I think Volvo would have gone down this route to preserve the drivetrain - presumably the reason they never went for a 2.3 for production cars.

How about these John?....

The same rim, but re-cast with a slit in the spoke (as mentioned above).

I can get you (or tell you where to get) a decent set of either with tyres for less than £100 at any time...drop me an email...can't be revealing my sources in public  I can assure you mine cost a LOT more than that (mainly on tyres...although they are awesome :))....I'd do it differently if I were starting again.

Apart from that they don't fit... :-P.

Very pimp rims though, and look awesome on 740s - even better than on 850 T5-Rs....

Foggy has managed to be very cunning and fill his room at uni with Volvo parts.

This, of course, means that he has nowhere to sleep except at his GF's........... filthy swine........

That 740 looks superb, and I like the american spec look!

Gotta stop looking at pictures of 7 or 900 series cars... it's a bad habit

I can probably get you a B234 at more or less any time, although it might not be as cheap as buying a crashed but running donor car.
