Some of you may be aware that I am in the process of fitting a V8 lump into a 340.
I am fitting a 240 rear axle with the normal 5 x 108 hubs and discs. fine for fitting the wheels to..............
my question is has anyone looked into fitting 240 struts to a 340?
the diagrams I see on the net make them look a similar design but I guess they are much 'taller' so cuttign and shortening them with shorter inserts from another model might work?
The reson I ask is that I am getting some rather special 'super dished' wheels in a few weeks and would love to use them on the 340 (think 6 inches of dish )
so any thoughts on the above?

this exites me.
they are not actually banded, but in fact weller offroad wheels with new volvo centres welded in them.
they poke out of a 240 arch by 2 inches. and have some 195 tyres stretched over them.
I am equally excited about getting them (next thursday)

I reckon you could get away with it mate, I could take some pics of the bottom ball joint on my 740, at worst you'd need to make some lower arms, and mod the steering rack (though I think you may need to mess with the rack to fit the rover).
