wiring f7p
hi,
as its getting to the end of the build i just want to get it done!
so think im messing about with wires! got the loom back from 340glt pluged most bits in (have a list of sensors im having trouble finding that i will stick on here after ive had an afternoon to play about)
any advice on how to go about it would be helpful cheers (just general istalation)

Re: wiring f7p
If it's an Adam loom it's pretty much just plug and play.
ECU, 4x injectors, 2x sensors under the inlet manifold, starter motor, 2 wires for the ISC. Not a whole lot more to it except sorting out your fuel pump supply.
I'm probably well off with that advice. Mine had been previously installed but i had a problem with it, removed it sent it back to Adam, he sorted it and i reinstalled it in about 10-15mins.

Re: wiring f7p
the ones im struggling on are - Diag, ignition feed, Knock sensor, speed sensor and starter motor solenoid :\
also the battery side do you just plumb into the positive on the battery?
cheers sam

I'll go and pop my bonnet now.

Re: wiring f7p
I'm not even going to pretend i know what i'm doing with electrics, hence why i went to Adam to get my install done
However these may help, they may just confuse you more. I'm guessing your loom will be the same as mine, but who know.

This is my extra fuse board for the fuel pump. I think the blue wire (lower one) going into the car is for the ignition, the red goes to battery live.
The pink one comes from the speed sensor.

This is the other end of the red wire, going into this brown thing (see i told you i dunno what i'm on about), it appears that the blue wire (now white) is coming from the loom.

Thats the ECU and connector, the grey wire is for diagnostics, the white wire goes round the back of the block and goes to the starter.

This block connector, again at the back of the block goes to the exhaust sensor.
Like i say not sure if that will help at all, but it's there if you need it

Re: wiring f7p
the pictures are perfect... just of the wrong bits haha!
ecu is all sorted i just wondered where the plugs went for Diag, ignition feed, Knock sensor, speed sensor and starter motor solenoid thats all haha

My Diag wire is just loose, the other end just being a spade connector for plugging into the diag when needed.
Take the plastic cowling off under the column and just find which wire goes live with the ignition switched for that one.
I'll have a look at the others tomo. Like i say i'm not much help but it's better than nowt

Re: wiring f7p
You are a star thanks!!!
Knock sensor is at the bottom of the engine somewhere I take it

Re: wiring f7p
Knock sensor is underneath the inlet manifold. You'll need to get under the car to get to it.
Powerz for the ecu goes direct from the battery pos. I fused it with a 10amp fuse, fuel pump with a 15amp. I can hopefully get pictures this afternoon of everything if you want any more help. I went through all this with Adam, so Ive done it exactly how he's done it.
Ignition feed is the white wire with a male spade on it afaik. You need to splice a piggy back connector onto the standard ignition wire, and connect them all up. is hard to describe, but again, I'll grab a pick of it later.

Jon a picture of how you connected the ignition would be perfect!
Also where the starter motor solinoid wire should connect

Re: wiring f7p
sure dude. sorry for the late reply, moving house and temperamental interwebs.
I'll get a pic tonight up.

Re: wiring f7p
cheers mate your a star!
got the ingnition one on but not sure where the started motor solinoid goes or the speed sensor!
got the car to turn over tonight though
damn work tomorrow morning
have an issue with fueling no fuel is getting to the pump, is there anything in the tank that you need to remove?

Re: wiring f7p
Awesome stuff dude!

Black wire at the top of the pic leads to the ECU, had to extend it a bit to reach. I then chopped the original ignition wire in two, and splice them together. To the left is the original wire that links to the ignition barrel, the left to the starter.
I didnt need to remove anything, as I used a unit done by Adam again. Standard sender converted to use a 3 bar walbro pump. What are you using?
Speed sensor is the pink wire I think. I'll have to look tomorrow.

Re: wiring f7p
I'm using the fuel pump off the grey volvo which is just some taty thing that seemed to work
It all seems fine can hear the pump but no fuel is getting to it? All the fuel gauge moves
So isit just the sender??
