Can anyone help with my fuel pump?
Ive had it replaced 2 twice in 12 months... Still hasnt fixed the problem.
Sometimes it just wont work when I turn the ignition key to START.
When it wants to work I can hear it for a split second as it primes the fuel system... Ive had it checked by Volvo they say that there is nothing wrong with it. If I hit the housing around the pump with a rubber mallet most times it works.
"HELP" someone... Its so annoying at times!!

Good call on the fuse box Randomhero. That can give a lot of problems, as it is rather vulnerable where it's mounted. So bad contacts, caused by virbations, damp etc are very common. Seen this happen before, and it's always one of the first places I'd look if I had any problems with the car not running.

I had a bad connextion too there. Everyone on the dutch forum was out of ideas to solve the fact that my car was not starting. Finally i came on that little box which i didn't notice before. I cleaned the fuses, put the plugs back on, and it started again!

Yeah, it can be problematic. My parents had the problem on one of their 360's. it cut out a couple of times, but the bumps and vibrations were enough to let it restart temporarily, until it did it and the vibrations weren't enough, so they coasted into the local service station, where they were a little baffled. Luckily my Dad remembered the auxillary fuse box and had a look, and sure enough the fuse holder was corroded. So a quick clean up and they were away again!

I was just thinking... why can't you just change that aux fuse box for 2 fuseholders like in the link. It's from a dutch electronics-store where they basicly sell everything. Whit these you wouldn't have problems like corrosion and bad contact at vibration.
