is this the grey 340GLE witch was on ebay?
Then this one is in the same color as mine, I assume..
this color:
How much do you ask for the front bumper (if it is in the same color) and how much would shipping be?

Ok so, which diff would suit the F7P better?
If the 3.64 diff is better suited then I can sell you the 3.82 diff with the 5 speed if you can give your 3.64 diff back as my spare?
Make sense???
In simple terms, I sell you 5 speed box and I exchange the 3.82 diff with your 3.64...

First off big thanks to Chris and Andy for popping over and giving me a hand stripping the 340 down and getting the engine out! I'd still be struggling now if it weren't for you guys so thanks again!

Dan, after talking to Chris and Andy about the diffs I think I'd like to keep hold of the 1.4 5 speed diff for now because it'll keep the ratios a little shorter which is what I'm after.
Hopefully I'll be able to whip out the gearbox tonight after work so it'll be ready for you to collect (along with that front bar).
Once the gearbox is off and I've taken a couple of little bits and bobs the car is going to get weighed in so if theres anything odd/specific wanted let me know asap!

Now worries dude
FWIW, I would keep the diff and box bolted together... it'll make your life easier, and Dan would be better off fitting a 5sp as a unit. The other way is a fair amount more hassle you don't want. You'll see when you come to remove it, but it'll drop as one piece.
I do know what I forgot though

Can I have the hazard switch and connector and as much loom as you can pull through (6in is fine) Cheers mate!

Sure thing Chris
On the subject of removing the gearbox, its just a case of the 4 17mm nuts on the gearbox support mounts that hold it in? (other than driveshafts / linkage etc?)
Any tips / hints?
Cheers.

Thats about it. I normally take the brackets off the car body still attached to the box (with a jack under of course

) rather than take the box off the brackets (not sure if thats possible from memory either) You'll see what I mean, there are 2 2ft wide brackets that come out from the box from the left side of car to the right, undo the bolts at the ends of these after you've taken the halfshafts off and the linkage off.

Ah yeah thats what I meant about the gearbox support mounts/brackets. I don't think it is actually possible to take the box off without them - you'd never be able to get a spanner in there.
I'm guessing draining the box oil first is a good idea too?

No need to drain the oil if you don't want to, it remains sealed when removed and won't leak.
And as said, you can't remove the box from the crossmembers until it's off the car. You may also have bother with the handbrake cable, as it's routed under the front crossmember, hanging the box up as you bring it out.
Oh aye, the rear crossmember bolts into a rubber bush, which will twist around when you're trying to remove the nut, really annoying. to avoid this give the threads a GOOD clean and the nut should remove easily.

Morning Dan,
I'm working today up until 1:30ish then I'm going home to do "car stuff".
I've got a few other things to get sorted first so I'm not 100% sure if I'll have the box out for you today. Are you free xmas eve? I should have it ready for you by then.
As for money, let me know what you're happy with and I'm sure it won't be a problem

Hey andy, im not too sure when ill be around christmas eve as work will probably try and get me in, but ill probably be able to make it sometime, as for the gearbox i wont be fitting that until after christmas as i just wont have the time. If you have the bar available today i could swing round and pick it up? As for money if you just gimme a ball park figure for the bits will be easier as i really dont like making offers as i dont really have a clue as to things worth lol
Cheers Dan
p.s Pm me with a good time to come round and stuff
