Yeah, when correctly tuned the solex has a 1/2bhp lower peak power (although that's probably down to my air filter, and the fact I'm still sure there is more tuning to be done to my solex, so could be equal higher peak tbh), but a much much more useful torque curve!
I've been able to dyno Fake on both, both carbs having had an overhaul and set up on a gas tester. Not to mention the solex also has a ceramic carb base pre heater and fuel cut off solenoid, so doesn't fill the cylinders when you switch off and make you wait 25 mins before you switch on again
