Body Panels

Post by 990 »

Anyone know where I can get an offside rear wheel arch repair panel - Steve P I am looking at you as you have just done it :)

I didn't win lottery so unless Volvo are doing a 90% discount

On a side note is it possible to have a llinks section to places we know stock parts for the 300 series (other than Volvo), trying to find somewhere that does not skip from the 200 series to the 400/700 series is almost impossible

Or give Steve Quinn a ring on 01773 748324, he runs Volvo Valley and is VolvoVince on ebay. I know he has brand new oem ones in stock for both sides.

Ooh... you're on a slippery slope!

Yeah, got my repair panels from Adam... seem fine, welder commented that even OEM panels are never completely spot on for things like rear arch repairs.

When I get around to getting the rear arch repaired on mine, I'm not going to use any repair sections, I'm going to find a good 300 that is being broken and remove the part of the arch I need, then get my Uncle to weld that in, this way it should be the right shape for one, and also not poor quailty thin metal that isn't going to last. Ok, the original arches on 300's are getting old, but there are some rust free ones about. Then the major thing is once it's done, protect it with dinitrol or a similar product, or your freshly repaired arch will rot away in no time at all and you'll be back to square one!

Watch this space for MAJOR rustproofing - other than this and a dented front valance (genuine replacement in living room :D ) my car is rust free.

Garaged by owner number one and FVSH
Sat down south with owner two for 3 months until I got my hands on it

According to Steve P it is still red and not yet that lovely pink hue they have a habit of turning into :P
I intend to make the minor repairs and keep it as rust free as I possibly can.
If anyone knows of a MK3 rust free genuine rear arch - then let me know on or off another car
