See here http://www.endurorally.com/pictures/legthree.pdf

Scroll down to near the bottom Car 100

Restricted to 1400-no lsd allowed-no porting/balancing-Doesn't look the cheapest thing to enter but alot of competitive mileage.

Are 1.4 300's any good?I have no experience of them.

Unfortunately the 340 is left trailing behind by all the little hatchbacks that weigh sod all and have little revvy 100bhp engines! :( So probably woulnd't be too competitive, but should be a laugh at least!

This is that 340 BTW:

So what does a 1.4 kick out? surely must be 50 bhp and should rev ok -most Renaults seem to.
Brakes shouldn't be a problem-adequate for 360 so 1.4 should not be an issue.
Of course we're back to the suspension issue-or more to the point the fact you can't get any without trebling the cost of the car

Having written that I think I'll get a Chevette

1.4 72bhp - suspension for 'em aren't that expensive, and it'd surely outperform a Chevette. They don't go too badly atall, not much slower than the GLT under around 50mph when you go 'flat out'

You may be correct but that single event alone has 4 days of competition mainly in the forests-so as to whether QH's best is upto the job is debatable-Chevette bilsteins-10 a penny.

Suspension is the only free area-unless I read tech regs wrong-which is quite likely

Suspension can be sorted.

Are you aloud to change the egg-toast?

Only if it's with crispy bacon-thank you.

Ex manifold remains std-rest can be modified as long as it passes noise limit.

Do you have a cunning plan Mr Dai?

Grr, I hate enduro rally rules, depends what you want Sven, if you want to be competitive, stump up for a 106 rallye, 205XS or a rover 200 with a k series. If you want fun, then 1.4 340 will work, I didn't do bad with mine last year, havn't touched any enduro stuff though.

That guy looks like he's having a great bit of fun, the nav is 14/15 ish?

EDIT: Hehe just looked at the front page of the Enduro website... Itsmeeee!

EDIT AGAIN: Just looked at the final positions, looks like the guys didn't finish :(

Unfortunately, it looks like the guys with the white 1.4 are going to retire it and replace it with a FWD tin can, having failed to finish both the Revival's they've attempted. Having spoken to the nav before, he is indded only abotu 15, and has built most of the car up himself, very impressive!

does the engine have to be NA? surely a r5 gtt would be perfect..

For endurance rallies, it has to be NA, and as of 31/12/06, that rule is extended to cover all road rallies, supposedly to take out the noisy rice rockets.

Don't get me wrong, I'm all for getting rid of the Rice Rockets, just the way they have worked the new rules seems a bit strange as it's also outlawed a lot of other, much less offfensive cars, such as DTurbos, 6-cylinder cars etc.

They are, yes. Obviously the father drives as his son isn't old enough yet! They have never seemed particularly competitive on the events I've seen them on, but they always seem to be having a really good time, which is, after all, what it's all about!

It's so stupid, I couldn't use Nat's 70bhp(?) Nova, but I could use an AE86 Corolla with a 240bhp VTEC engine , which IMHO has no place on a road rally. Would these rules also allow bike engines to get through? That would be very silly!

But if anyone knows of a cheap 700/900 16v let me know ASAP :)
