How much can you lower a 360 by?
How much can you lower em on lowering blocks and springs without running into problems with geometry? Won't be for long as i'm gonna 5 link it and convert to coilovers, but want it a bit lower for the time been.
Will it go down 4" at the back?

Well if its a glt then it starts lower than all the rest anyway, i've got 2" blocks on the back of mine and 2 coils cut off at the front, wouldn't really want to go any lower as theres bugger all clearance left in the front arches so would need some major surgery

Stock GL had something like 75mm compression damping left when car is level and one coil was something around 53mm, when cut 2 coils it is around twice as stiff as original so it will not get 106mm lower, maybe 50mm or so. Car should be quite prone to bottom out, springs are still not super stiff, only around 44 kN.
Can't gain lot from that, as there just is not much space for wheels to go either, to get nice height and motion range for track use, I believe wheel wells should be modified and also suspension geometry would need some thoughts as roll centres will be completely different place than with stock.Fuse wrote:Of course you can always shorten the shocks too.
30-40mm clearance when bottoming out would be enough for track use, with some 60-100mm motion range depending from track type, surface, kerbs etc, imo.
It is just that front end has limitations.
At rear that traction bar(?) limits a bit if I remember right, but I certainly can't remember when it started to be bit of problem.
But getting too low means you need stiffer springs+dampers to avoid bottoming out and too stiff suspension is bad, well for drifting I guess anything goes as long as it won't flex or grip too much and is predictable

Ok starting at the back,
2" blocks will work well on a car with all the interior in place - with a stripped interior 2 1/2 inch drop is possible. On 360 anthing over a 1 1/5 inch drop means you will have to move the hand brake cable to the other side of teh spring.
Front end a 3" drop from std is the norm for a drift car. Running on 13" rims you will be very close to teh ground. If you want 15" or bigger and teh same kind of stance you would need to cut away all the innner arch at the front and raise the position of the strut top. Is a drop that big you wopuld have to offset the track rods as well to avaoid bump steer.

Although this is the only method I know of that really helps create more clearance, do note that I only use that car for trackdays, the inside fender was already rotting badly on the side pictured, and that when you do this, you also need to trim the front wing arches back. I wouldn't bother for a car running on 13's unless you really plan to abuse it.
I didnt have much trouble with rubbing on the 15's, except under hard braking on track, that's why I decided to make some more space.
