Vario clutch

Post by filthyjohn »

ARGH.

My vario clutch just went. Balls. When I select a gear, I just get loads of noise and smoke coming off the bellhousing. URGENT.

I think I saw one on German Ebay:

Is that the right one?

That only seems to be the pressure plate if I'm right in putting the pictures to the text! There isn't the all important release bearing and clutch plate.

If you're super urgent I've got an old clutch plate, it's well worn though. So if you can I'd hold out for getting everything, I was lucky to get a genuine new one on Ebay recently, might be worth seeing if they've got another kicking about! I'll contact them.....

Cheers lads. The motor discount want £150 for one so they can get stuffed. I've been thinking for a while now that this vario is far too nice for me to look after, especially unsuitable to use as a daily driver. So I've bought a 1.1 metro for the commute  -At least then I can hammer it and not give a hoot about preserving the low mileage and shiny paint.
I'll have to get the old clutch out before I buy anything, then you can rest assured I'll do the job properly and the car will be for sale on here.
