as i posted earlier, ive taken the pinstripe and badges off my white 340.im thinking of removing the rubbing strips on the sides.
the car is totally 100% rust free, whats underneath the strips(is it the same black stuff that bonds the badges?)
Dunno if its the same on those big rubbing strips, but on the small ones its just like the stuff the baged are held on by, foamy glue stuff. A bit of white spirit and it should come off.
I asked about these a while ago and yes they are held on with that black double sided strip tape. A good way toget them off I was told was to use welding wire tied between 2 screwdrivers to act as handles. Still not got around to doing mine yet as the car is always in use by the wife.
Without the rubbing strips, your big bumpers are going to look a lot more conspicuous.
The rubbing strips carry on the top profile and break up the severity i recon.
With them removed, the front and back are gonna scream BUMPER!!!!
I actually prefer the thick rubbing strips, the cars look too narrow without them...
Besides, the thick ones are a total bitch to get off - ask Chris and Andy after we removed them off my old car that was gonna get scrapped with a crowbar
