Hi guys silly question ( i know) but.. im strongly thinking about removing the coachlines/stripes from my 360. Basically some of the stripes have come off due to me bieng a bit clumsy with my neighbours pressure washer

(ive heard if i do remove them i might end up with a brighter line of paint under where the vinyls where-but frankly baby i dont give a damn)....
Can i use a heat gun to remove the stripes? Whats the best way of removing them?
Second Question.. Whats the best way of cleaning the engine bay? Mine is greasy, grotty, slighlty rotty and leafy!

Any products you recommend? Can i just use detergant+ water?
Just needing some advice really so any is welcome.

For the stripes... yep heatgun (hair dryer might do tbh) and picking at it to peel it off... might be brittle by this age though as the stripe on my old car took an age to remove, pinstripes probably not as bad at all though. You'll probably find that the paint might be a bit deeper under the stripes but not a huge amount, especially if your car is a metallic colour.

Ive pressure washed a couple of engine bays dude. always worked well.
Just give it time to "dry" afterwards. Had to wipe moisture out of the dizzy once, but I HAD given that one about a ten min dousing from 678 difeerent angles.

You can get really strong degreasers. An easy one to get is in B&Q citrus degreaser, 'Disolvit Max Strength Degreaser', works quite well for me.
You still need to work it in to thick oil crude, you can try repeated squirting with a spray bottle set on needle jet leave to soak in , repeat etc. Then jet wash it off.
I also have Marine Clean from Frosts, its a bit nastier and requires more rinsing. With effort it can remove cavity wax, but I ended up using white spirit in the end.
I tried Metal Clean or something from B&Q, which has a mild deruster in aswell, but I didn't find it did anything really.
Best to wear glove with any of this stuff, if will de-oil your skin too, but it does grow back provided you don't have any sensitivities

Cheers dude I will look out for the citrus stuff-for some reason it didnt occur to me

Hopefully my car will be running again at some point soon as ive managed to convince my (reluctant car unloving) dad to give me a hand in removing the fuel pump.... hopefully its just that...really miss the sound of the old girl and her abilities to (with skillfull driving ofcourse) embarass/ piss on modern cars
