So work have told me that I can't use Nessy for work visits because "it looks like a shed" (i.e. won't give the right image). "The silver one would be fine". Yes, but I don't make such an obscene profit from the mileage payment if I take the 25mpg 360....
Hereby, I present 'the solution'...
EDIT: Note how matt the door is in comparison.
Wet-sand, then compounded, then polished. This panel isn't 100% there yet, partly because I polished it in the dark...but great things are happening to the crappy-looking-car-that-can.
Certainly looks better mate, I need to do a similar job to the Variomatic to bring the paint back up to it's former glory after many years outside. The colour comes back with just some good wax, but there are quite a few imperfections that need cutting out, what was the product you used?
Nessy will be a shining car to be proud of!

G reg 360 GLT, G reg 340 GL Variomatic, plus many more..........
Ryan cleaned both his 740 and Nessy today (since he's taking her to work tomorrow), and she looks a lot better for it! We had a minor drama involving noticing that it was pouring out coolant (from a loose hose, fingers crossed...), and just had to laugh when we drained the coolant...
After we dropped it down onto some dry drive to check for leaks, I notice that it looked a touch cheeky....so took a couple of pictures...
I think I might invest in some lowering blocks for the rear. The front springs have sagged pretty badly (although you don't really notice while driving it, but the rear is still tight as a drum).
Or maybe that's the source of your mysterious coolant loss......manky coolant like that is par for the course if you just top the coolant up with water rather than antifreeze
Our 340 B14 had mayo in the filler cap when the thermostat went on that and it wasn't warming up properly.....
There was one hell of a lot of muck on top of the coolant, and I have been adding anti-freeze. It looks like the radiator is holed, so that will explain some of the loss.
We'll flush both systems (oil and coolant) properly, and see how it behaves after that.
It is real pleasure to see how old cars can still shine more than those 10 years younger ones if just taken care and spend little work on them.
There is many newer cars at my parking lot, but my car still shines better, even it has been now 2 years since I did polish it, last time I did wax it about year ago so soon need to do it again, but still it has bit of that wet look too.
But I do have problems with rust, passenger door is brown of rust 2-3cm from bottom, also there is some other spots too. If I would just have place or bit more money so I could get it sorted, then it would be quite nice.
No, still on the old rad...and the old oil. The less said about the latter, the better....I'm not proud of it! But still, Nessy is the car which defies all the odds and still keeps going, so I have to make the occasional homage to that!
